Mindfully Moving Yoga (60-minute virtual class on Zoom)

Tuesdays 11:30 am; Wednesdays 6:00 pm

 

A gentle Hatha Yoga class taught by Robin which includes the use of props to assist in making poses more accessible and to bring more ease into the body and comfort in the mind. Props suggested to have available for use are a yoga mat, two yoga blocks, a bolster or a couple of throw or bed pillows, a strap, resistance band or a soft belt, at least one blanket and a sturdy chair without arms.  Robin’s classes are designed from a trauma-sensitive foundation with the focus being to calm the nervous system and to explore the practice of yoga & meditation for emotional self-regulation and healing of the mind, body and spirit.

 

Yoga for Every Body (60-minute class)

You can experience the benefits of yoga with the body you have now, today. You don't have to be thin, flexible, or athletic to practice yoga. Yoga is for EVERY body. This class is taught by Lisa and is free to all participants.

 

Gentle Yoga (60-minute class)

In this class, taught by Lisa, explore how using props can make yoga accessible for everyone regardless of age, size, fitness level, strength or flexibility. Gentle Yoga is the class for you to show up as you are and experience the kind of practice that you need on any given day. This class embraces individuality and celebrates the innate power and wisdom within. However you choose to move on your mat, Gentle Yoga is for you.

Chair Yoga

Mondays at 3:00 pm and Wednesdays at 11:00 am at Portside Yoga (sign-up here)

Did you know that you can practice yoga while seated in a chair? This class is taught by Lisa and designed specifically for Seniors interested in exploring how practicing yoga with a chair can offer opportunities to increase strength, balance, stability, flexibility and well-being. Students have the option of staying seated for the entire class or standing for some poses while using the chair for balance and support. We do not get down on the floor during this class.

Aerial Yoga (60-minute class)

 

ON HIATUS

Aerial Yoga is a type of yoga which uses a hammock (or looped fabric) that swivels freely on a single point, allowing you to deepen your stretch, correct your alignment and safely perform inversions. This form of yoga can be a therapeutic tool individually or in group classes improving balance, strength, flexibility, circulation; reducing inflammation; and inviting a sense of liberation from tension, stress, anxiety and fear. This class is taught by Lisa.
